The board arrived and my 4 year old daughter was very eager to try it. Unfortunately the pen did not work! I rang Helix and spoke to an extremely polite and helpful member of staff who assured me she would send a replacement pen. The pen arrived 2 days later and we were able to try out the product.
Working in a primary school I initially could not see how the board could hold more appeal or effectiveness as a standard whiteboard. My daughter’s enthusiasm said otherwise. The soft coloured rubber edging ensured it was easy for her to grip and manoeuvre; she was able to hold the board in place without any difficulty. It also meant the board did not slip when placed on a table or other surface as many conventional white boards do.
Included were 5 fun activity sheets that can be placed under the board to trace over. The uniqueness of the board being clear allows you to place any desired writing or patterns to follow allowing the child to improve their pencil control. After tracing over one of the sheets my daughter used the small cloth provided to rub out her handiwork. She was able to wipe the board clear without leaving any smudges or marks with minimal effort.
A really great product where the simplicity shines through.
