Lyonsleaf 100% Natural Body Butter and Beauty Balm Review

Reviewed by Cath Joyce

I have sensitive skin and eczema on my feet so always try and use natural skincare products as much as possible, therefore I was really pleased to receive the Lyonsleaf 100% Natural Body Butter and Lyonsleaf 100% Natural Beauty Balm to review. I hadn’t heard of Lyonsleaf products before, so I had a quick look at their website and discovered that they are a family business based on a farm on top of the Mendip Hills. They have been making natural skincare products since 2011 and their mission in life is to provide 100% natural, safe effective, cruelty free skincare which is suitable for the whole family at an affordable price. Their products are suitable for all skin types, even very sensitive skin and they create a range of award winning skincare and beauty products using herbs grown on their farm.

The Lyonsleaf 100% Natural Body Butter comes in a 120ml glass jar and is packaged in a cardboard box. The brown glass jar with silver screw top lid looks very stylish and all the packaging can easily be recycled. The body butter is quite thick but quickly softens with the warmth of your hand and the wide neck in the jar makes it easy to scoop out the body butter. The body butter smells lovely, it has a gentle fragrance and I could make out the scent of coconut and calendula when I applied it.

The body butter is very easy to apply and a little goes a long way! After the first application the dry skin on my arms felt hydrated and soothed and the eczema on my feet was less red and angry looking. I have been using the body butter twice a day and have found that after a week of use the skin on the back of my arms is noticeably much softer and the rough skin on my elbows is massively improved. My feet look much better already and I am hoping that by using it every day my eczema will improve and I won’t need to hide my feet in pumps this summer.

I generally have cold hands so found the recommendation of using it after a bath or shower was especially helpful as the product is quite thick and it does absorb much better with warm hands and warm skin!

The body butter is 100% natural and is suitable for vegans

The 100% Natural Beauty Balm is an oil cleansing balm and moisturiser in one, I hadn’t used a cleansing balm before but it was really easy to use, you simply massage the balm onto dry skin and it lifts make up and dirt from the skin. You remove the balm with a damp flannel or muslin cloth, holding the warm cloth to your face for a moment before wiping away the balm and dirt. This felt lovely and relaxing and removed all my make up effortlessly. You can then apply the balm as a facial moisturiser, you only need a small amount and it seemed to just melt into my skin. The balm is in a 60ml brown glass jar like the body butter and it is very easy to scoop the product out of the jar.

The Natural Beauty balm is a real multi purpose product, I found it was excellent at soothing the dry chapped skin between my fingers and also works well as a lip balm.

The balm is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive and problem skin and is made from 100% pure, unrefined, undiluted plant oils. It is full of vitamins, antioxidants and other phyto nutrients and is made with sun stable oils that do not oxidise. It contains all the fatty acids that your skin needs to naturally maintain skin barrier and allows skin to regulate itself naturally. It is also suitable for vegans. It is free from preservatives, emulsifiers, artificial colour, fragrance and all artificial chemicals.

I am really impressed with both these products and can highly recommend them. I am looking forward to trying some of the other products that they do, I really like the sound of the Calendula and Marshmallow balm and the Mane Tamer sounds perfect for my frizzy hair.
