Lindy BNX-100 Wireless ANC Headphones Review

Reviewed by Louisa Nashir
Background noise whilst watching a movie or listening to music is one of the most annoying parts of our tech-savvy lives. My husband has claimed the TV most evenings as the football season has started so I find myself using my phone or iPad more now to keep myself entertained, or I read a book whilst listening to one of my playlists on Spotify. One thing that really annoys me is being able to hear the racket from the TV despite having my device volume at the maximum! So I was intrigued by the Lindy BNX-100 Wireless Active Noise Cancelling Headphones I was recently sent to test and review and wondered if they would be my saving grace.
The headphones came smartly packaged in a sleek black and red box with an image of the headphones on the front. Upon opening, I found the following items:
- An instruction manual in various languages (English, Dutch, French and Italian)
- A hard EVA carry case with mesh pouch
- BNX-100 headphones in a very stylish black and chrome finish
- 3.5mm audio cable (1.5m)
- 1/4″ (6.33mm) stereo-plug adapter
- Dual-plug flight adapter
- Micro-USB cable (80cm)

Battery
The headphones include a built-in Lithium-Ion 600mAh battery and can be charged using the supplied USB cable either plugged into your computer, TV or USB powerpoint. Lindy recommends a full charge of 4 hours when using for the first time. The battery meter is a great addition as it gives you a reliable indication of charge time and also how much power the headphones currently hold.
The headphones have many great features including beeping at 5-minute intervals and red blinking lights to alert you when the headphones hold less than 10% charge and you are using them in wireless mode. One of the greatest features is the ability to still be able to use the headphones when the battery is completely flat by plugging in the 3.5mm audio cable. This is perfect for long journeys and trips away where power may not be readily available (e.g. camping).
I found the battery life to be extremely good for a headphone of this calibre, and I used them mostly in the wireless mode and can last a full 12 hours with Bluetooth and noise-cancelling both switched on. Very impressive!
Controls
The headphones feature several different controls, all of which are listed in the instruction manual with a diagram to help you locate each button.
On the left side of the headphones, you have the Noise Cancelling On/Off Switch, USB charging port, Battery meter, and ANC indicator and the button to activate the Audio Pass-Through mode.
On the right side you have the Volume UP/Next Track button (wireless mode only), Wireless indicator LED, Multi-Function button (on/off, Pairing, Answer/End/Reject Call) when using the headphones in wireless mode.
The headphones also tell you when they are switched on and off which is another super useful feature.
As you can see the headphone have so much capability thanks to its fantastic features so I couldn’t wait to try them.
Whilst charging I made sure I read and re-read the user manual before trying the headphones out, I again used the manual once the headphones were ready to use and within a few minutes the headphones were set up wirelessly to my iPad and I was ready to go. I am not the most tech-savvy person especially when it comes to new products, but the user manual gave me the confidence to set the headphones up quickly and with ease.
I’ve had issues with headphones in the past and have often found them to be very tight and constrictive, so over the years I have mainly used in-ear earphones but they are often hit and miss as the sound quality is simply terrible and often very echoey and buzzy. So the BNX-100 headphones had a tough critic to impress.
I found the headphones very comfortable, plenty of room in the headband and the ear covers actually didn’t hurt my ears or make me feel like my head was being squeezed. They are a very comfortable, high-end pair of headphones and nothing like pairs I’ve worn in previous years and hated. I have a large head so finding a comfortable pair was a must! Try to watch a film or listen to music in discomfort really takes away the enjoyment.
The sound quality is out of this world. No high-frequency screeches or overly loud bass you really can tell what a high-end top-quality pair of headphones these are. I must say I preferred the headphones with the noise cancelling button switched on. The noise cancellation button worked a treat at drowning out the cheers from my husband’s football on the TV and enabled me to listen to whatever I wanted in peace and without distraction. In fact, I actually missed him asking me if I wanted a coffee!
These headphones are what the world has been waiting for and I am sure they will be very popular with all ages. They look and feel expensive and good quality. They are comfortable, look stylish and are easy to use.
With Christmas fast approaching I can see these being under many trees this year.
If you want a reliable, good quality set of headphones then these are the pair for you!
