This well presented, boxed Lego set introduces the Lord of the Rings story with the arrival of mysterious, magical and wise wizard, Gandalf. Separated into two bags, the set consists of easy to build pieces and a 19-page instruction booklet, based on the Tolkien characters.

The set is aimed at children between 8 and 14 years old with my eight year old son describing it as "quite easy" to build. Each page within the instruction booklet lists which pieces are needed and how they should be assembled with a list of all pieces included at the back (so you can make sure none are missing – none were, as you'd expect from the Lego brand).

The set comes with two characters (Frodo and Gandalf) and horse & cart. As with all Lego sets the pieces are interchangeable so if your child fancies letting Frodo wear Gandalf's hat or removing his beard they can expand their ideas and grow their imagination with lots of build and play options. Colourful, intriguing and fiddly enough to keep them busy (and easy enough that that they don't give up).
