Barbie Mariposa and the Fairy Princess Review
Barbie: Mariposa & the Fairy Princess

On arrival to Vue Manchester Lowry, we were greeted by the friendly staff who quickly gave us our tickets and provided us with our snacks and refreshments. We are regulars to this cinema complex and have never had any issues with cleanliness, which was also the case at this visit.
Once seated in our allocated seats, which were a fantastic choice, the film quickly started.
I attended the viewing with my partner and my 3 year old daughter Heidi who is a massive Barbie fanatic. She was thrilled to be going to see the film as she loves going to the cinema. Once the movie started her eyes lit up and she was engrossed all the way through. Sometimes we have issues with her getting bored in the cinema but she was totally captivated throughout.
The story is about Mariposa and her furry friend Zee travelling from their home in Flutterland to Shimmerville as the Royal Ambassador sent to make peace with the crystal fairies in Shimmerville. She soon becomes friends with Catania – the Fairy Princess of Shimmerville, much to the dismay of Catalina’s Father the King. Mariposa has not made a good impression with the king due to her large wings and clumsiness. Catalina gifts a crystal to Mariposa which she wears to the ball held at the castle. The crystal fairies in attendance see her wearing it (it is forbidden for anyone other than a crystal fairy to own a crystal) and the King banishes her. She leaves Shimmerville to return home to Flutterland when she comes across a dark fairy on her way to ruin the ball, she quickly turns back to help Princess Catalina save the Shimmerville fairy land.
This is a fun-filled adventure which is very girly and glittery, any little girl would be enthralled by going to see this movie.
I would recommend this.
