I was delighted to receive the “ Mighty Magnifier “ to review.  It is for children four plus although a younger child could use it with help and support from an adult. It will need batteries as it comes with out these which it states on the box but only needs two AAA which most people have to hand so make sure you have batteries when buying the toy as we know how frustrating it is not to have them .The box it comes in makes it look very interesting showing you what you can find to see in the garden or park ,my grandsons who are four and three couldn’t wait to see what was in the box. The magnifier comes in two bright blues and a bright orange trim the adjustable strap is also orange which can be adjusted to fit the child’s head by turning the knob and which makes it hands free , to make it bigger or smaller for your child or adult !! As you know most adults will want a go, It also has an easy twist knob which can increases magnification from 2x to 8x so you can see all the bugs and creepy crawlies even closer. The on and off button is located by the battery cover this switches the light on and off so helps with looking for the bugs . The magnifier comes with a few instructions on how to use the viewer for the first time its easy and really fun to use .

During lock down my son and his two boys have been playing in the garden and this bug viewer has been a great hit they have been looking for bugs but this viewer has made it even more fun as well as educational encouraging lots of interaction ,taking turns and exploring the garden and finding out about science without even knowing it and seeing bugs even closer . They were fascinated watching the bugs , spiders , flies, bees (not getting too close to the bees for obvious reasons) they loved it when the snails would come out of their houses ( their words ) which is how i would describe them , and unfurling their bodies and their eyes on the stalks, and they could really see them close up without really disturbing the wildlife.  There is a caution that the children should not look directly at the sun with the lens as this could cause a serious injury to their eyes so adult supervision is recommended .

Geosafari also make other educational toys which make learning fun ,which includes the bugbright , subscope , underwater explorer , bug bugnoculars other items available which can be found on the internet , all bright and colourful which makes them ideal for children and adults alike . My son lives by the sea so has been lucky to be able to take his boys down to the beach when nobody is about and they had to take their bug viewer with them to look at sea creatures, shells and crabs up close so its great when ever you are out and about so if you haven’t got a garden its a great toy to take out . So its great for all sorts of reasons including the price which is very reasonable.
