LeapFrog My Pal Scout Review

Reviewed by Kelly Dewey

I was sent the LeapFrog My Pal Scout to review. My Pal Scout is an early learning interactive toy that introduces a variety of early learning concepts from numbers to routines and music.

My daughter is 2½ years old and really enjoys pressing the buttons on his paws and dancing to the songs. You can go online and programme it to say your child’s name, I found this to be a nice touch to personalise it and it can be done on your smartphone or computer, which makes it nice and easy. It’s a good interactive toy which teaches your child counting, answering questions, animal noises, emotions and listening skills.

I like the fact the controls are easy for the little hands to operate, this in turn helps to strengthen their hands in preparation for writing. I find the lullabies useful when getting ready for bed or having some quiet time in the afternoon now my daughter is growing out of afternoon naps. I have signed up for the emails which contain learning strategies at each stage of development, I am looking forward to receiving those, which I’m sure will be very helpful.

I’m not keen on the idea of my child sleeping with Scout as I’m concerned it will wake her if she rolls over on it during the night and it starts playing music.

The bears have a really friendly look to them with their floppy ears and bright wide eyes. I like the way they look and so does my daughter. I think the price is reasonable and would recommend this toy to parents with children from any age between 6 months and 4 years.
