Lakeland Children’s Baking Gift Set – 5 Mini Baking Tools Review

WOW, WOW, WOW…. Christmas is just around the corner and this is a must for any child, especially if they love to bake and cook.

This brilliant mini baking tool set is guaranteed to get any little one to interact, cook and bake and a great way to start off the baking season ready in time for Christmas.

Me and my granddaughter got straight in the kitchen when she got home from school to practice our culinary skills for Christmas baking. We made a list of what we wanted to make and bake, and then it was time to put on our aprons, measure out the ingredients for each item we were making and lay our tools out on the counter ready to get stuck in. She has an apron with pockets and could not wait to pop the tools into the pockets before she started. We made some Christmas mince pies, apple pies, chocolate chip cookies and even some dog treats. She loved her mini baking tools and even wanted me to take pictures of her using them. My granddaughter said to me at one point ‘Nana, when I grow up, I want to be a baker, just like Mary Berry’; lol, I thought she was going to say me, I chuckled and responded ‘good on your sweetheart, you go for it’. With that, she asked if we could look at Mary Berry recipes for the next time she comes round.

The tools are excellently made from a good quality stainless steel and a super soft silicone. They are really well designed for those little hands and she loved how they were so much like her Nana’s, just smaller and actually, far more cuter and made baking even more fun.

The tool set is brightly coloured and we used that to interact as we were prepping, baking and cleaning up. These colours are especially great for a child’s cognitive development. Each time she would need the whisk, I would say, ‘OK, now if you get the orange whisk, you can now whisk the eggs. I would make reference to each colour tool whenever she would need to use them.

The colours are bright, vibrant and cheerful and are a mixture of the following:-
Orange
Green
Red
Blue
Yellow

What I also love about this cute little baking set is because each tool is made of strong and good quality silicone, they do not scratch or damage any tins, bowls, etc. Once we finished baking, into the dishwasher they went and came out looking brand new. Their shapes remained as they were when we first received them, so no discolouration or miss-shaped tools. As Mary Poppins would say ‘Practically Perfect, In Every Way’.
