La Tasca Deansgate Manchester Review

We recently went out for a family Sunday lunch at La Tasca in Manchester City Centre. The centrally located restaurant was easy to find. I arrived with our one year old twin boys and waited for my partner to arrive with the older children from the cinema. Staff helped me rearrange the table for 2 high chairs. The restaurant had a lovely relaxing décor and was spacious and appealing. I enjoyed a cool drink while I waited for the other members of my party.

When they all arrived we opted for the £9.95 set menu for us and the children had the kid’s meal at £5.95 per person. There was plenty of choice on both menus and we had no trouble choosing what we wanted to eat. Whilst no one in our party is a vegetarian, I noted that there were plenty of vegetarian options on the menu. I had bread and oils as my starter which tasted yummy. My partner likes plain food and he opted for plain chicken breast with plain patatas bravas. For my main I chose Patatas Bravas, croquetas de pollo (chicken in breadcrumbs with garlic mayonnaise) and beef and pork meatballs. I ordered the pork belly from the main menu as it’s my favourite La Tasca dish. The children ordered various options from the children’s menu. Our food arrived quickly and was tasty and hot. We all had plenty to eat. My partner and I were too full to even contemplate having a dessert, but the children thoroughly enjoyed theirs.

Whilst at the restaurant we used the toilet facilities which were spotless. We also spotted the downstairs function room. I would love to go back to one of their themed evenings. All of the staff were very friendly, excellent with young children in fact, and on hand to explain menu items we didn’t understand.

The quality of food, standard of service and cleanliness are outstanding and it is most certainly value for money.
