The Kiddies Food Kutter was absolutely a big surprise in my house. I didn’t realise how much fun we were going to have with it. Having received a blue and red one (also available in yellow) has saved us from any arguments. The kutters are cleverly designed with plastic handles for little hands to cut their food safely. The stainless steel blade allows the children to cut their own food with a sawing action and it’s very safe to use as it has no sharp edges. The kutters are dishwasher safe and the blade is non-toxic that prevents rust and corrosion.

You can start using the knife from as young as 2 years old but we have found you need to show them how to use it properly and guide them at the beginning. Starting with soft food like cucumbers or bananas they really quickly figure out how to use it correctly. Very soon you can move on to raw vegetables and get the kids involved in preparing their meal. My kids have clearly shown more interest since they have been allowed to help mummy cooking. Not only is it a good way promoting independence but it also gets them interested in food. Even though you have to supervise the kids all the time, you’ll have one less job to do at dinner time as the kids want to cut their own food all the time even pasta!

I do think this is a very good product for young children and would definitely recommend buying it.

RRP is £7.95 (£21.95 for the set of 3) which I thought was a bit pricey, but having seen how much use and fun we get out of it I feel it’s worth every penny.
