Tenderflame was founded in Norway with the mission to bring a safer and more sustainable atmospheric flame to the market.

To achieve this, they invented The Wick and Tenderfuel, which, unlike bioethanol, they say are 100% safe to use.
I was chosen to review the Kettler Cafe 18 product from Tenderflame, and on its arrival was surprised to find they had also included a bottle of the tenderfuel which meant once I had put It together the burner was good to go.

The burner base is a weighty ceramic, concrete grey colour (also available in black) you insert the black metal fuel reservoir which has 3 silver clips on for the glass surround to slide and clip in to. The glass is a bit fiddly to clip in but feels secure once attached. the multi wicks just slot in then you add the fuel as instructed. To light the Tenderflame, pour Tenderfuel into the Tenderflame reservoir. Then pour a little more Tenderfuel over the wick, so that it is soaked. It’s recommended to light the burner with a long lighter for safety.

The box also includes a flame extinguisher which is easily put together by undoing the tiny bolt inserting the threaded holding stick and re bolting this is also a little bit fiddly due to the bolt been so tiny.

The cafe 18 burner has three wicks that when lit merge into one large mesmerising flame, I’m not a lover of normal wax candles but I have used other table top burners which were nowhere near as good as this one. I found other makes hard to keep alight. This never had a problem staying lit. I love to watch a burning flame, and the cosy, relaxing feel it gives. I was very impressed with the intensity and height of the flame that came from the cafe 18 burner.

The biggest difference between this and other similar products on the market is the fuel that they use, Tenderfuel is 100% organic, nontoxic, it provides a very clean flame, there are no smoke or soot particles given off and there is no odour, it is also very safe. Tenderfuel will only ignite when it is in contact with the stainless steel wick that is present in all Tenderflame products. The wick also has a lifetime warranty.

The Cafe 18 has a fuel capacity of 0.3L which has a burn time of up to 4 hours.
Tenderfuel is so safe that you can even refill whilst it is burning.
All Tenderflame products are safe and eco-friendly.

This is a lovely burner and would make a fabulous gift for a birthday, anniversary, wedding etc it is a high end design which would suit any room décor, enhancing the ambience and beauty of any room. Although I feel it may be slightly overpriced which I reflected within the ratings.
