What a great little game and all from a tin. I love games and am always on the lookout for new travel games, particularly as my daughter and I have found a love for camping.
This game arrived and we were keen to try it out, the game is for 1 player and says 7 years to adult. There are 48 challenges from easy to Expert. You choose a challenge from the book and then set the track and lay the cars out where they are on the picture, the cars are stuck to clear puzzle shapes that move around the board and are magnetic. The cars must always be on the track and the trees must never be on the track. At the bottom of the challenge is the race order and shows the order in which the cars must be placed and show the position they must cross the finish line, there is only one solution that can be found in the back of the challenge book. We had great fun playing this and trying to move the cars around the track. We took it in turns to complete each challenge and to see how far we could get, My daughter was much better than this at me and I got frustrated trying to work out which way to go.
Concentration and problem-solving were a challenge but it kept my daughter entertained, she has autism and would normally give up at the first hurdle, but she enjoyed this challenge and still has many more to complete.
I loved the fact that it’s small and compact in a tin box and can be taken anywhere and is a game we will be taking on our camping trip in a few weeks.
I had not heard of smart games before and having now looked at their website, I will definitely be purchasing some more games for us to play, and we like the look of some of the other travel games, and will be buying for gifts as I have a lot of friends that go camping and are always looking for things for their little ones to do.
Smart Games are a company that created games based on 5 key areas, planning, problem-solving, logic, concentration, and spatial insight. They believe that one of the most important things is to learn through play, each of their games draws on cognitive skills and focuses on different areas and helps to build confidence as the more they practice and concentrate they can learn to develop skills to help gain the confidence to solve more complex problems. These games also help with your motor skills this one In particular was your fine motor skills, as you move the pieces around the track within the tin, which is all magnetic.
Even though all the smart games are single-player games, you can still interact with others and play alongside each other to complete the challenges. We did it together throughout and made suggestions, it was fun to play this kind of game and support each other rather than playing a game where you are competing against each other.
