Jason Manford A Different Stage Live at The Lowry Review

Performing songs from his debut studio album A Different Stage, local boy Jason Manford, better known as a comedian than a singer, wowed the audience at The Lowry theatre in Salford, Manchester last night (Monday 13 November 2017).

Showcasing songs such as ‘On The Street Where You Live’ from My Fair Lady, ‘Hushabye Mountain’ from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, ‘Stars’ from Les Misérables and ‘The Impossible Dream’ from the 1965 hit Broadway musical Man of La Mancha, Manford truly blew the audience was with his fantastic vocal range.

I am a fan of Manford’s comedy act so thought it would be great to see how his love for musical theatre would turn out live on stage, I was very impressed at how good the show was. In between songs Manford would tell jokes and involve the audience.

One of my favourite parts of the show was where he got the children who he had performed with in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang up on the stage to aid him with the song and help cue the audience to sing along. This was great.

Along to support Jason was one of his fellow performers, from when he starred in The Producers, Tiffany Grace. Their voices really complemented each other and gave the performance depth.

The show overall was a great surprise, I had not realised how musically talented Manford is. He really knows how to put on a great show, as a singer as well as a comedian.

The album A Different Stage by Jason Manford was released on 6 October 2017 and is available to buy from Amazon here.
