Jack N’ Jill Toothbrush

We liked the look and feel of this toothbrush, it’s a great size for our 2 year olds hands and a nice weight too. A sturdy design, our daughter likes the green bunny on the handle of the toothbrush (also available in dinosaur, hippo and koala designs). The bristles are soft and good to brush with. The toothbrush feels like it will last a while. We like that it is biodegradable and can be broken up into the compost. The packaging would stand out amongst the leading brands as very simple and organic looking. Overall a great little toothbrush and for £3.69 a bit of a bargain. Rating: 5/5

Raspberry Flavoured Toothpaste

Jack N’ Jill Natural calendula toothpaste is rich in xylitol. Organic calendula to soothe gums. First impressions brilliant that it is fluoride free, sugar free, colour free, SLS free, no preservatives and gluten free so you can be sure that your child is brushing their teeth without nasty chemicals, it is a bit on the pricier side of the market at £4.99 for a 50g tube. Our 2-year-old wasn’t overly keen on the raspberry flavour but that is more down to taste buds, I’m sure she would’ve liked the blueberry flavour, it wasn’t overly sweet the way some floured toothpastes can be and had a very faint raspberry taste. The only problem we found with it being colour free it wasn’t very easy to gauge how much you’d put on the brush and as our daughter likes to put toothpaste on the brush herself she did have an accident and squeezed out too much.

Overall a good product. The packaging is lovely with simple colours with a flip lid, although we would probably stick with our usual mint flavoured paste due to the price. Rating: 4/5

Silicone Tooth and Gum Brush

I was very intrigued to see how our 2-year-old would take to this brush as it is a little different, being a double-sided curved brush, allowing children to brush both top and bottom teeth at the same time. Directions on the packaging are fairly simple; apply a small amount of toothpaste to either side of the brush and place over the teeth and brush back and forth. Our daughter really liked this brush more than I thought she would, and it’s really helped clean her back teeth.

A great little brush and is definitely one we would purchase again. Rating: 5/5

Overall all three products were well received by our 2-year-old and she now has very clean teeth as a result.
