India Rising by Oliver Balch Review

This is a good quality paperback book.  Having spent a year in India I was quite intrigued by this book.  It is a little slow to get going but if you keep going it is very worthwhile and a good read.  People’s understanding of India and the way of life differ hugely from one to another and Oliver Balch’s portrayal is very interesting.

I hope this book encourages people other than the normal backpackers to visit as there is no other place on earth that comes close and this book certainly describes it well.

I did enjoy this book and would definitely recommend it.
