Land of Play, Trafford Park, Manchester
Today we have Dave Richardson with us from Land of Play in Trafford Park. Dave can you tell us a bit about your business please and when you set it up?
Well, we opened Land of Play in 2009. It’s a childrens indoor play centre. We do our own home cooked food, children’s parties, 3 storey play frame and electric go karts.
So what made you take that leap and set up your own business here in Trafford Park?
I just got sick of travelling to play centres myself with my children, so I decided the only way I was going to stop that was to open my own, saw a gap and went for it.
I must admit, when I do bring my little girl here what I do like about it is the healthy eating food on offer. I think that this is a good idea and a huge difference to some of the other soft play centres I have seen. Would you agree with that?
Yes, definitely. I don’t like my kids eating processed rubbish and so I can’t expect other parents to do the same. Everything we make here is all freshly made everyday, we don’t buy anything in. We have qualified chefs in the kitchen. It is something that we are proud of and we have got a good name for that.
So obviously I know that you are open 7 days a week. Can you tell us your opening times please?
We open every day from 9.30am until 7pm during the week and we close at 6pm at weekends and we do exclusive parties 6pm until 8pm.
Do you have a website for your business?
Yes, it’s www.landofplay.co.uk.
Thank you so much for your time, Dave. It has been lovely to speak to you.
