An enthralling tale about Theseus (Cavill) who must defeat the monstrous King Hyperion (Rourke). Hyperion seeks out a mystical bow and arrow so that he may control mankind and, in his efforts to prevent him from doing so Theseus meets several strangers who are fated to ensure his victory. A story unfolds where everything – and everyone – is certainly not what they seem, made particularly possible by the presence of the intriguing Old Man (Hurt). Make no mistake, this film has dark undertones and is not for those who have a weak stomach, with violent scenes throughout. However, with superb special effects and brilliantly choreographed battles, it makes the mythology of Ancient Greece come alive once again.
