Heston Blumenthal Precision Indoor/Outdoor Meat Thermometer Review

If you’re anything like me, there is no better feeling than being in the garden on a warm weekend afternoon with a cool refreshing drink in hand and the smell of freshly simmering, juicy burgers wafting through the air from the BBQ. If you’re anything like my wife however, the fear and trepidation surrounding undercooked meats and potentially poisoning our kids is a constant worry. Well now we can both be satisfied since we got a hold of the INDOOR/OUTDOOR MEAT THERMOMEMTER from HESTON BLUMENTHAL.
This particular meat thermometer has an extra-long probe, making it ideal for burgers and cuts of meat as well as joints of beef or pork and even roast chicken. The probe has 1cm guide markings and a plastic casing for safe and convenient storage. It is easy to clean and penetrates meats with minimal pressure due to its needle like tapered end.
The thermometer body requires two AAA batteries (supplied) and features an excellently clear LCD display, it also comes with a silicone case attached making it ideal for indoor and outdoor use. The temperature is accurate to 0.1 degrees and does not lock onto a reading but rather measures the current reading of the meat providing a more accurate temperature of your food after just a few seconds. The temperature reading can also be switched between Fahrenheit and Celsius with a simple flick of a switch in the battery compartment of the thermometer.
Within the packaging of the HESTON BLUMENTHAL PRECISION INDOOR/OUTDOOR MEAT THERMOMETER is a handy little instruction booklet which also contains useful information on cleaning and maintaining the thermometer but also advice on preparing your meats for maximised flavour and tenderness. It also contains a temperature chart approved by HESTON BLUMENTHAL and the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) to help you cook your meats to the perfect temperature and alleviate any reservations you may have if you are not a confident chef.
In conclusion, I gladly rate this product 5 out of 5 stars. It is simple to use and easy to maintain, the long probe and extremely accurate temperature reading make cooking, roasting or whatever you’re planning on doing with your joints of meat a worry free experience and it can be even used for other products such as jams and confectionery goods. It is simple to clean and can be used inside or outside thanks to the protective silicone casing and plastic probe cover. It is also water resistant with an IPX5 rating. A brilliant product and a must have for any kitchen or for getting outdoors this summer for a barbecue.
