Father’s Day is just around the corner and I often struggle with what to buy my dad and my husband (on behalf of the little ones) they are both notoriously difficult to shop for and therefore I tend to go for the safe bet and have often gifted them boxes of beer from various breweries.

For the men in my life it is always well received and an easy win for a busy mum. So why should this year be any different.

I was kindly sent The Hawkstone Luxury Beer Hamper from Hampers.com. This arrived swiftly, the company offer a next day, named day and Saturday and Sunday delivery as well as the standard 2-3 days, so you are covered if you have left it till the last minute.

The hamper is beautifully presented in a high quality glossy cardboard box with a magnetic close on the overlapping lid, good for re-using as gift wrap elsewhere.

Inside the box are 4 Hawkstone beers, a premium lager, IPA, pilsner and session beer there are also 4 snacks including Crunchy Snacking Cheese, Dry Roasted Peanuts, Olives and Cheese and Onion Crisps these are all presented on a bed of shredded paper.

The extra layer of interest is that Hawkstone is Jeremy Clarksons brewery in the Cotswolds, we have been avid viewers of Clarksons Farm so added a nice novelty factor to the box.

The hamper is available to purchase for £45 which to be honest is more than the individual items are worth but as with all hampers you are paying for the presentation, ease of gifting and in this case the celebrity link. That shouldn’t take away from the quality, the beer was consumed and enjoyed as well as the snacks, it was nice to try something different that isn’t a regular in the supermarket basket.

The lager came out on top as the favourite during a taste test, it’s a smooth easy drinker but to be fair the others went down just as easily. The snacks were a welcome well matched accompaniment, the salty treats made him more thirsty and reaching for another beer to wash them down. I claimed the olives as he’s not a lover and can confirm they were indeed delicious. The Snacking Cheese was weirdly wonderful too.

It’s an easy pleaser, if they like beer they will like this! Perfect for the man who had everything.

Hampers.com is not a company I have used before but certainly will consider again they have loads of gorgeous boxes, something for everyone, there’s wine and whisky hampers, chocolate, gin, afternoon tea even cheese and charcuterie options whatever your thing is and in various budgets, they have it covered. If you don’t live near your loved ones the beauty is being to send the hamper directly to them saving time and expense on postage. You can add a personal gift message at checkout to make it more personal.

Overall a good quality hamper with nice products that compliment each other well, slightly more expensive than competitors but a good service.
