Grenade Christmas Snacker Review

Christmas is typically known as the time of year for eating chocolate, sweets and generally overindulging in sugar filled treats. But over recent years there has been more of a trend to stay away from foods filled with processed sugar instead opting for no or low sugar alternative snacks. Grenade produces a selection of the UK’s best selling high protein bars and snacks. They are high in protein but low in sugar. This year Grenade has created a twist on the usual Christmas stocking gift by making the Grenade Christmas Snacker, a novelty cracker filled with their popular protein bars. A perfect present for the protein lovers in your life.

I was lucky to receive two Christmas Snackers from Grenade, so one for me and one for the husband! Each cracker is a cardboard box made to look like a cracker (but without the bang) and contains three different flavoured protein bars plus a scented gym bag air freshener. Each protein bar contains 22g of protein and only 2g of sugar making them a much healthier alternative to confectionery. The three flavours are Chocolate Chip Salted Caramel, Gingerbread and White Chocolate Cookie. We really enjoyed all three flavours. They are delicious, filling and satisfying. I enjoyed mine post workout and they really gave me an energy boost. My favourite by far was the gingerbread, I think just because it’s such a festive flavour. I love that spiciness from the ginger. The other two flavours were tasty too. The white chocolate cookie was very sweet and milky and I do enjoy the tang you get with salted caramel so I enjoyed that bar too. Every flavour bar is triple layered and covered in chocolate. They feel such an indulgent treat so I was amazed to find each bar contains only around two hundred calories and is so low in sugar. Such a great tasting, healthier alternative to eating a chocolate bar. These can be enjoyed anytime as a snack.

The protein bars make a great healthy snack ideal for a morning or afternoon pick me up snack or as a way to refuel after a workout. The Christmas Snacker would make an ideal gift for protein lovers, anyone who enjoys the gym or workouts or to help towards those post Christmas health kicks.

Overall I love the Grenade Christmas Snacker. It’s a quirky gift, great as one of those little extras for a stocking or a gift for those hard to shop for men in your life. They are delicious bars and can be enjoyed as a guilt free treat.
