We went to the Lyric Theatre in the Lowry Manchester to watch Paul Merton Impro Chums. As usual The Lowry is a great location for a show, good location, close to restaurants and shopping centre. Parking is available in Lowry Outlet Mall for £6.50 for the theatre.
The show was two hours of hilarious comedy which is truly worth the watch. Paul Merton was joined by his very funny and talented friends Mike Mcshane, Lee Simpson, Richard Vranch and Suki Webster and they all click together with charisma and have a great connection.
To a packed out audience the comedian’s performed a number of impro acts pulling in suggestions and ideas from the audience. The performance showed they are creative and extremely funny at the drop of a hat. The chemistry and true genius of them shines throughout the show. This was especially apparent when following suggestions from the audience, Suki interviewed the giraffe fencing trainer AKA Paul Merton.
The talent and ability to create something special together was clearly magical and faultless when Lee, Richard and Paul answered each question like a Mexican wave.
The audience were made to feel a real part of the show, shouting out suggestions for countries, feelings and even the paint colour artichoke for the Queen’s Corgi’s coat!
Every bizarre step of the show we were entertained and fully considered to ensure that the show was tummy wobblingly funny and unique. Suki and Mike had the audience singing and in panto mode throughout the performance.
The whole cast created a joyful and unique evening – some truly talented impro comedians at their best.
Paul Merton’s Impro Chums is definitely a show to see and one to remember. Fun and interactive with the audience and a pleasure throughout.
