Grass & Air Infant Wellies Review

I was kindly sent a pair of Baby Blue Wellies Infant Size 7 by Grass & Air. I chose the size and colour for my grandson aged 2 years, who loves wearing wellies and splashing around in puddles given the opportunity!
The wellies were sent promptly by the company and arrived in a paper package with minimal packaging inside, which fits in with Grass & Air’s policy of minimal wastage and sustainability. A robust navy blue drawstring bag came with the wellies, which is extremely useful for storing the wellies when they are not in use. I have also used this bag for my grandson to take his wellies into his nursery school for when they regularly have wet play outside. A welcome addition!
My grandson absolutely loved the colour changing rain clouds decoration on his wellies and was really excited at his first sight of the multi-coloured raindrops falling from the clouds when he was splashing around in puddles. He couldn’t see the reflective strip on the back seam of his wellies, but I appreciated the thought of putting these ON for his safety in being seen.
The wellies themselves are very well made, strong and look extremely durable. Compared with wellies I have bought in the past for my children and more recently grandchildren, the quality of the Grass and Air wellies far excels other brands. They are easy to put on and very warm with their brushed fleece lining. The outside material is 100% rubber, with the clever addition of easy-to-dry removable insoles so that these can be taken out and dried – no more soggy feet when the wellies are needed again!
Although I chose infant size 7 for my grandson, there are sizes ranging from infant UK3 to 13. The price range is from £22-£24. You are advised not to leave the wellies in direct sunlight or near heat sources and more care information can be read on their website.
If you choose, you can also buy matching super soft fleece welly socks in 5 sizes, to keep their feet extra warm. They are formed from flat-lock seams for extra comfort and snugness.
There is an extra unique service that Grass & Air provide as part of their ethos of sustainability; this is called ‘Reskinned’. When clothing and footwear is good enough to be worn again a customer can return them to Grass & Air. The customer will get a £5 voucher towards buying the next size up, as long as there is a minimum £30 order. Reskinned sanitises the goods and repairs them if needed. If they cannot be repaired then they will be upcycled or recycled. I was very impressed with this service, as it means less items are manufactured and those already sold will have the opportunity of being reused.
I have no hesitation in recommending the Grass & Air wellies and applaud their sustainability thought processes in producing excellent quality outer footwear to an extremely high standard. I give this product a very well-deserved star rating of 5 stars.
