Gigaset G-tag Review

Reviewed by Dorothy White

I am forever misplacing my keys in the house so was delighted when I received the Gigaset G-tag for review. The G-tag is a 4x4cm (approx.) personal Bluetooth tracking device that you can put on your keyring (or place it with another device like your tablet or anything else you put down and forget where you let it) and with the aid of an app on your Smartphone helps you find the missing item. A brilliant idea!

I downloaded the app from the App Store and it was very to set up and pair with the G-tag device. I attached the G-tag to my keys and put them in another room. Using my phone I was able to open the app and locate my keys. You press the locate button and as long as you are in range (about 30 metres with Bluetooth) the images on the display (3 circles) let you know the closer you are to the device with audio alerts, essentially tracking down you missing item.

I used it on my car keys but can be used on all sorts of items; bags, keys, car, pet, children or even your partner!

You can also set it up so that if the item is moved out of your pre-defined distance from your phone you will be alerted via your phone. It can even use GPS if the missing item is out of range (although I haven’t to use this function yet).

I found the G-tag to be a great little device for directing me to my missing keys, no more turning the house upside-down. It is available in five different colours and the app can keep track of multiple G-tags if you require one on different items.
