We got invited to Frankie & Benny’s to try out their new menu. We were all very excited, Frankie & Benny’s is our favourite restaurant to go to.
We arrived at 4pm and we got seen by a lovely lady who apologised for the mess and they had a massive table come in and they hadn’t long left. She asked us which table we would like, the girls picked a round table, within a couple of seconds they were showing us to our table and asked if we would like to order drinks, which we asked for a couple of minutes due to the girls had gone off to the toilet.
When we ordered the drinks, the waitress asked us if we would like some garlic dough balls to eat while we were choosing what we were having, I got a big yes from my eldest daughter. Our drinks and the dough balls turned up really quickly, the girls got stuck into the dough balls too quick for me to take a photo of all of them.
The Kids menus had a lot of choice and I liked the fact you had 2 sections to choose from, a junior section and one for children with smaller appetite.
The Adult menu had so much choice, it did take me a while to decide what I was having, I couldn’t decide between, Lamb Shank, Ribs or New Jersey Chicken. My Husband choice from the lunch time menu and picked the hot dog.
While we were waiting for the food the girls got stuck into the activity books, which had something for the different age group I had which is fantastic, meaning they were occupied.
The food turned up quickly the waitress remembered what we all ordered, which I liked as this meant she was paying full attention to us.
In all the excitement I have forgotten to take a picture of my food which was the New Jersey Chicken which was Succulent chicken breast topped with streaky bacon, pulled pork, BBQ and cheese sauce, served with crispy onion rings, golden fries, coleslaw and corn on the cob. The corn on the cob was hot even after a couple of minutes sitting on my plate, I had to share this with my middle daughter. There were only 2 onion rings, I was hoping for a few more. I had to share these with my eldest daughter. The chicken was lovely and succulent, along with the pull pork and bacon, the coleslaw was really nice, it tasted like homemade coleslaw.
Top left; Kids Maroni which my middle really enjoyed and there was plenty for her, the only thing I would suggest is maybe a piece of garlic bread to go with it.
Top right; Fish and chips with baked beans, you got the choice of beans or peas we choose beans, my youngest loved the fact the beans came in a little bowl with a spoon making them easier for her to eat them, my youngest ate all the fish fingers and some of the chips.
Bottom Left; My eldest picked wrap it up chicken from the junior menu she said she loved the chicken it was her favourite chicken of all time, the only thing I would suggest is that you could do with a couple more wraps 3 is just not enough. She was quiet happy to eat the chicken on its own.
Bottom right; Was from the lunch time menu BBQ Philly Cheese Dog, which came with fries and Coleslaw which my hubby really enjoyed, but the with the sauce being covered in sauce it made the bread roll soggy and break in half, but didn’t stop my hubby eating the lot.
After we had finished our mains, the empty plates were taken away and offered desserts, it didn’t take long for the girls or hubby to pick, me on the other hand took a little while longer to pick. When we had picked the desserts they turned up really quickly.
The Desserts were all really well presented, me and Hubby both picked waffles mine was the top left and it was divine, chocolate and honey comb waffle. Hubby had cinnamon waffle crunch and it didn’t touch the sides. All the girls had ice cream sundaes my eldest and youngest and brownie sundaes and my middle had ice cream sundae, they all really enjoyed them and left nothing.
We all really enjoyed ourselves and the food at Frankie & Benny’s, all the staff were so lovely and helpful. We will be going back again very soon.
