The Waterloo Road series is a fictional programme based on the daily lives of students and teachers at a high school. The episodes I have watched are from series 8 which is the most current series recently shown on BBC1. It is a follow on from the previous series of Waterloo Road which ended with the school being relocated to Scotland.
This series so far is gripping and leaving me wanting to see more, the daily lives, struggles and dramas of the students and teachers are things that happen in real life and the way the program is written reflects this. Issues are sensitively tackled and feature all manors of aspects such as alcoholism, teenage pregnancy, disability and bullying to name but a few. The storylines are easy to follow and the characters are interesting and diverse. Each episode focuses on a different storyline and are well written and believable. The episodes are not ideal for a younger audience hence it being shown on TV in the evening times.
I am a great lover of drama based TV series and anyone who likes watching TV dramas I think would really enjoy the Waterloo Road programmes. Each episode is an hour long and once its finished I can't wait to see the next one.
I would definitely recommend this programme series and rate it 5/5.
