AO.com has kindly sent a ‘Flymo HoverVac 250’ lawn mower to be reviewed. Summer is here and the grass does not stop growing; in reality all I want to do is sit in the garden and enjoy birdsong and the colour palette of flowers.

When choosing a mower there are several factors to consider:
• Size of garden – knowing the size of your garden helps in choosing the correct mower, for example, the power of the mower, type of mower.
• Type of Grass – something many do not even think about; it all depends on how thick and difficult it will be to cut.
• Ease in which to push the mower.
• Adjustable Settings – ergonomics and how long or short you wish your lawn to be.
• Storage – where are you going to put it and how much space will it take.

The Flymo HoverVac 250 is the perfect size for our garden, we have three areas of lawn, all are smallish and have a mixture of lawn and weeds. We unpacked the mower, checked the instruction manual to figure out how to adjust the height of handle and the blade settings.

Using the mower makes cutting the grass a pleasure and not such a chore, it is easy to manoeuvre as it glides on a pocket of air. Having trouble with the ‘hovering’ it is easily remedied by tilting the mower to let it restore the air to float on.

The reasons I love this mower is that it is easy to use, I don’t need to worry when the first cut is due that it wont work. It is as simple as ‘plug and go’. I looked into replacement blades which are available and cheap to buy; on top of that as you remove the blades to adjust the height of cut, they are easy to install.
