Dunnet Bay Distillers Premium Scottish Spirits Rock Rose Gin Cracker And Holy Grass Vodka Christmas Cracker Review

Reviewed by Lindsay Burton

With the festive season upon us, gift ideas always come in handy for most people. We all have a list of people that we would like to get a little something for but not want to spend anything that will break the bank – these would be a perfect option as a Secret Santa gift.

So I was super impressed when I got to sample these Christmas crackers!! The crackers are made of strong card and the ends carefully fold in to create the “cracker look”. Each cracker is Filled with a small bottle of festive cheer. You can now get something very classy and sophisticated that would suit everyone’s taste.

The HOLY GRASS VODKA Cracker contains a cute 41.5% Alc Vol. – 50ml bottle of vodka which is delicately fresh with a creamy smooth finish.
I read online that the Holy Grass Vodka is a creation of local produce and botanicals, being infused with a carefully made vapour of Highland apple juice, to complement the sweetness of the Holy Grass. The hero botanical Anthoxanthum nitens is a delicate, sweet-scented grass known by several common names such as Holy Grass, Bison Grass or Sweet Grass. I enjoyed my vodka with some lemonade and ice, it was deliciously refreshing!

The ROCK ROSE GIN Cracker is the other sample I got to try and my personal favourite. This cracker also contains a lovely decorated 41.5% Alc Vol. – 50ml bottle. The gin is flavourful and fresh, zesty yet berryful with a long smooth finish.

The description online stated that the Rock Rose Gin gets its wonderful flavour from a carefully selected and put together creation of local and traditional botanicals. Each one meticulously chosen for their flavour properties to create the perfect taste. I enjoyed my gin with some lemonade and ice and a slice of lemon. I do prefer gin to vodka so this one went down very well! I have added this one to my Christmas list (at least a bigger bottle)!

Once I looked at the products online and the rest of the range this company have on offer, I saw that it took fifty five experiments by Martin & Claire for the gin! The final recipe was chosen to give a small taste of Caithness and the very first batch was distilled on the 17th August 2014.

Rating: Both of these crackers get 5/5 from me – a lovely stocking filler or Christmas gift in general for most adults who enjoy vodka and/or gin.

RRP and Buy link: These Items can be purchased at a very affordable price of £5.00 from Dunnet Bay Distillers here and here.   There are a number of other great products that are available to purchase from here, one can even go and visit the distillery for tasting sessions – they are located in the very north of Scotland.

Oh I wish it could be Christmas everyday of the year with gifts like these!
