I have never been particularly bothered about what toothpaste I use. I just look for anything that is on offer at the supermarket. My husband on the other hand is a bit of a toothpaste gourmet and insists on a certain brand, so this was a very interesting product for both of us to review.
I found it lovely to use my whole mouth felt very clean and fresh. In the past I have used a mouthwash after cleaning my teeth because my mouth wasn’t feeling fresh enough. I was advised by my dentist not to do this so stopped but felt I never had that great fresh mouth feeling. This toothpaste has solved that. My mouth felt ultra fresh for a long time after cleaning my teeth also when I run my tongue over my teeth they feel much smoother and polished so this product has shown me that not all toothpastes are the same.
My husband also gave it the thumbs up. He also liked the large 105 ml size tube which will last a lot longer than the 75ml tubes we usually buy. We liked the peppermint and spearmint equally. They both contain menthol and eucalyptus, 70% of the ingredients are organic and there’s no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives and no fluoride so it would be suitable for children.
I must mention the packaging. The tube of toothpaste came in a cardboard box, dark blue and white for the peppermint and teal green for the spearmint. All packaging is 100% recyclable with a very retro look. The perfect partner for the toothpaste is Dr Bronner’s toothbrush. also 100% recyclable and performs just as well as the plastic variety.
One of the things I love about this product is that it comes from a company with a real history. Dr Bronners have been family soap makers since 1858 and there is a short piece about the founder on the box. The business is still run by his family. There is a lot to read about the company on their web site and it is interesting to read about the company ethics. This really is a company with a conscience.
I have never considered toothpaste as a gift before but this is such a good quality product with good packaging. It could be given as a gift or used as a stocking filler. There are lots of other products on the Dr Bronners web site all equally gift worthy. I am definitely going to try the soap that was their original product.
I have three men on my Christmas list that I always struggle to find the perfect gift for and this toothpaste and some of the other things from Dr Bronners will be perfect for each of them.
