I had great pleasure listening and reviewing the 32 track CD of Frozen (Walt Disney) which supported the new film (the film and the soundtrack are both out now).  I have yet to watch the film as it has only just been released at the cinema yesterday.  However I'm very much looking forward to taking my son and daughter even more so now I've heard the CD as we had only seen the trailer over the last few months and know the story is based on a Snow Queen.

I listened to the CD probably 6 or 7 times in total to fully appreciate each track properly and try and understand what the story is about which was a little bit difficult without seeing the film! My 9 year old daughter also listened to this a few times too as she is very excited about the story and film. I asked her which track was her favourite and she preferred the track 'Let It Go' by Demi Lovato because it had more words and expression and described the story better, whereas the other version 'Let It Go' by Idina Menzel was just instrumental.  However I liked the track 5 the latter better than track 10 her favourite so it's individual taste I guess.

The first track was quite dramatic (Frozen Heart), I imagined a scene of all the cast dancing and singing together or something like them skating around in circles. This was a pleasant track with lots of instruments playing and blending well together. The second track was one of my favourites, Do You Want to Build a Snowman, with lovely sweet melody of a young person! I wouldn't hesitate playing this CD to young children before bedtime for them use their imagination whilst nodding off. In summer was very chirpy and you could quite easily sing along to this easily! Love is An Open Door is very catchy, again each time you hear this track you truly appreciate it more and imagine the scene, it's great especially when he asks her to marry him, you need to listen to get it!

The whole CD from start to finish was what I would call very easy listening and quite beautiful in places. Each track was fairly average in length ranging from 1½ minutes and longest 4 minutes 17 seconds, but the smallest time was Reindeer(s) are better than people being 51 seconds long, this was quite a funny track and I liked this as was quite humorous, especially more so each time you heard it.

A couple of the tracks were based on the love story going on and made you imagine the characters in scene. All in all a very pleasant change to have playing whilst relaxing in the bath! A good wide variation of artists compiled together to make nice background music for the film, what I would call dolly mixture of music containing lyrics and instrumental tracks.

The selling price of this CD is £9.99 I would happily pay as there's some very cleverly written and composed tracks which I would happily play on repeat and you can't help yourself but sing a long in places too! This is sure to be a CD that will not get left on the shelf, actually found the music quite therapeutic!

We liked all the tracks.
