Ryman Polar Gear Holo Football Cooler Lunch Bag Review

This is a great looking lunch bag, particularly for any football lovers. Its silver holographic football design really makes it stick out from others on the market.

2 of 3 of my children need new lunch bags before the new term starts in September. It’s one of those things that just don’t seem to last many years.

The bag arrived in a box, with cardboard inside to stop it from collapsing, which had done the trick. Upon opening the box the first thing I noticed as how striking the design and colours were.

It’s slightly larger than my other lunch bags for school lunches so a better size for my eldest, who is in secondary school, or children who pack lots of separate food items for their lunch. (Approximate size is 27x21x10 centimetres)

It is practical for lunch as it is a cooler bag with a thermal layer to keep the contents cool once done up. It has a handle at one end so can be carried easily and has a sturdy feeling zip which opens 3 of the sides out so that you can flip the top open to get to the contents easily. This also makes it easier to clean out on the inside should there be a spillage (or apple core, banana skin or other such food leftovers left bouncing around and getting warm inside all afternoon).It is wipe clean, so ideal for younger ones to use without it getting really grimy.

The holographic football is great. It’s really eye catching. However, in terms of practicality it’s actually not very practical as the cool bag inner doesn’t go up inside the football so the raised football is wasted space. In secondary school bags, all space counts, as they need to cart around loads of books and equipment.
Therefore, this eliminates it from use by my eldest who is my most football mad child. I’d therefore say that this is more suited to primary school aged children, where school bag space is not so much of a premium so the extra space the football takes up is not then replacing space something else needs to be in.

This bag is very useful for school use, particularly for younger children, in terms of having a slide in label with lines for name, class and teacher on, to help return it to its rightful owner if accidentally left anywhere.

The bag is made from polyester and the lining is made from food safe PEVA which is PVC free, which is good to know in this day and age when trying to reduce your children’s exposure to harmful plastics yet still wanting something that does a good job, which inevitably means plastic for this item!

Price wise, this seems reasonable in comparison to similar products. It’s better looking than others though with its sleek and shiny design. The only thing that lets this, otherwise amazing looking and well sized, lunch bag down is the wasted space where the football is 3D. Therefore, I rate this;
