As I started to prepare for the evening and read the instructions of the game, I felt it seemed a little complicated and scripted, and therefore was slightly concerned the night would feel more like hard work than fun. However I needn’t have worried because as the game unfolded on the night everything became clear and simple to follow.
The game had thought of everything, providing great little touches such as invites, character booklets, and menu and music suggestions to help set the scene for the evening. The menu was not what I would normally have served but provided a good opportunity for me to try something different and keep to the theme of the night. The invites were very provisional looking, making the party that little bit more special and mysterious. Thanks to the character books, everyone got into character adding their own creativeness to the night which provided for an excellent, very amusing, fun filled dinner.
Unfortunately to really get the most out of the game you could only play it once; however I would love to play a similar game in the range. You could I suppose play again as a different character with different guests as long as you don’t mind already knowing the plot.
Although the game would potentially only be played once I felt it was still value for money. It only adding a little additional cost to the cost of a normal dinner party, but made it unusual and far more exciting than the average dinner party.
We all had a great night and I will definitely be recommending this product to others in the hope I will receive an invite to their murder mystery dinner party. I would give this product a well deserved 3.5 out of 5.
