Daddy’s Sandwich by Pip Jones is a beautifully written tale about a little girl’s attempts to make her daddy a sandwich made from all his favourite things. It starts with fairly typical ingredients and gets a little less typical as the book goes on!
This 32 page book is colourful and the illustrations (by Laura Hughes) are gorgeous. There are lots of opportunities for your child to join in in identifying the ingredients and even a part where you have to turn the book to see what is going on. This is very much an interactive tale and is fun to read with a twist at the end! The text is varied and it is easy and quick to read.
My nearly 2 year old in particular loves it, as does my 4 year old, but I feel on balance it is more suited to the younger children.
