Cloud b and Mother & Baby Tranquil Turtle. This is the cutest item I’ve come across in a very long time. As a Nanny to four grandchildren and another arriving in early 2025, I never ceased to be amazed at what’s available now for babies and toddlers.

The original plan was this was intended for the new baby, but the three year toddler whose new passion is turtles has made it clear it’s his to keep! Young children all love a nightlight and this one is special.

The Tranquil Turtle is just gorgeous I have to say. This can be used from birth and is of a reasonable size in a lovely shade of mint green. If like me your keen on sustainability, it’s good to know it’s made from recycled fabric, and no batteries required, it doesn’t come with a cable, but is rechargeable with a USB-C cable, which most of us have already in our homes.

I’m just in love with the seawater effect it creates on the ceiling or in the room, all of our children absolutely love attending aquariums and this is the most lovely calming effect. We have used a variety of items in recent years for the babies, and this is by far the nicest I have seen. The light effect can be set to static or ocean wave, and even I like watching it in the evening, let alone the little ones.

There are two soothing tunes and two ocean tunes, which can be played along with the nightlight, the sound level can be adjusted, as well as the brightness of the light. We all struggle with bedtimes, and our grandchildren have all been very different at how they settle at bedtimes. We are super keen not to rely on the television and iPads, so this really is a game changer. The Turtle naturally plays for 23 minutes, whoever thought that was enough times hasn’t met one of my grandsons, he takes an age to settle once in bed. If the baby or toddler makes a noise or cry’s though, the turtle has a sensor, which is also has adjustable sensitivity meaning it will come back on and start its twenty three minute cycle again.

For me the delight is this isn’t just something that will last for those first few months with your baby, it has longevity. Our grandson is so taken with it and he is age three years. He can be quite restless at night, especially when he stays at Nanny’s so this has been super helpful. He delighted to go to bed with his turtle, although I fear this maybe short lived.

I really wouldn’t hesitate to buy this as a gift for family or friends and am very much hoping they all don’t want one, and that maybe the turtle can be shared by the two households, although I think this maybe wishful thinking. Delightful, I might want one myself, although not sure Grandad would approve :). A gorgeous addition to any Nursery or toddler bedroom.
