It’s safe to say, the Body Shop can do very little wrong in my eyes! For a long time now, the Body Shop has been my ‘go to’ shop for all things beauty related, and I am always pleased with the quality of the products. I also love the fact that I am getting a product that is ethically produced and not tested on animals. A win win situation. However, I hadn’t yet tried their range of lipsticks. Generally I prefer the lip stain or lip gloss, so I was keen to see what the lipsticks were like.

The Body Shop packaging is generally simple but stylish. The three lipsticks from the Colour Crush Range all have silver bases and red semi-transparent lids. The base of the lipstick tells you which shade you have – I had 101 Red Siren, 115 Enrapture Red and 125 Crazy Sexy Crimson to try. The three shades are all red, but do differ with 101 being the lightest, followed by 115 and 125 was the darkest.

The lipsticks arrived while my mum was at my house, so we tested one each initially. We both loved the way they smoothly glided on to our lips, and they felt touch dry within a few minutes. The colour was vibrant and intense and we both felt very glamourous! We then wanted to see how long the colour would last, so spent the afternoon chatting and drinking tea, and needless to say, the colour stayed on! Also, despite being very bright colours, the colour didn’t transfer on to our cups as I had expected. In fact, I had to remove it before I collect my son from school as I felt the red was perhaps a bit too much for the school run!

From my experience with make-up, I would say that these lipsticks could rival any of the designer brands. The choice of shades is fantastic and the colour is gorgeous and intense. I didn’t find the lipsticks to be drying at all. For anyone out there reluctant to give up their designer brand, I would urge you to give these lipsticks a go, and you won’t be disappointed! For people on the other end of the spectrum, who may think the price tag is a bit steep – believe me, you won’t regret it. With cheaper lipsticks, you will be reapplying your lipstick more regularly and therefore using more lipstick. These lipsticks represent good value for money!

I would say that the three shades that I tried would all be best suited for a night out on the town, rather than for day to day wear (dependent on you style!). Any of the three shades I tried would brighten up any outfit and make you feel a little bit more glam.

Another fantastic product from The Body Shop!
