Casio FX-83GTX Scientific Calculator Pink Recommended for students in secondary school, College or University.
For Maths, equations and exams, Age 11+. Up until now, my daughter has always had a Casio calculator, this one is an upgraded version from her previous one. Casio has always been a make I used at school and I know that is a reputable brand that is reliable and good value for money.
This Casio which we had the chance to review is slightly more advanced than our previous one, which is exactly what we needed for our daughter who is currently studying her GCSE Maths, it is easy to use and a lovely colour pink so very girly which my daughter loved. It was very clear and showed all the workings out on the calculator, as it would do in a Maths textbook, she did however feel the screen could be a little bigger and the buttons were quite small. It did what she needed and helped her to complete her practice papers she has for the summer, allowing her to do all the areas she needed to such as equations, square roots and prime fractions and much more. It fitted nicely in her pencil case and was easy to find when loose in her bag when everything is in there, as it stood out and didn’t blend into the black background of her school bag.
The new layout and menus mean it is easier to navigate and has an added feature of solar powered with the backup of the battery. The calculator is lightweight and has a clip-on hard protective cover to protect the buttons and the screen, it has 290+ functions. The Calculator also comes with a 3-year guarantee, which is great. I’m hoping this will last her the next few years for her A levels and into college as she wants to do Maths in higher education.
I would rate the calculator 5/5 and the price is great for all the different functions it has to offer
The cost of the calculator at the time of review was £16.49 but will vary as on Amazon it is currently on offer on Amazon for £12.75 and is great value for money as sometimes the more advanced calculators can cost a fortune., I would pay the price for this product at the time of review.
