A wee Saturday morning trip to Brewers Fayre always hits the mark… fun for kids and a little R&R for Mum!!
We visited the recently refurbished Dennis the Menace play area at Buchanan Gate, Stepps, Glasgow and it provided hours of entertainment. It is a good size and will accommodate lots of kids .
It contained plenty of fun… slides, tunnels, bridges and my girls favourite, the swinging balls! There were also two coupe cars though with hot food and drinks they could have been a bit of a hazard. I have to say the whole area was impeccably clean.
An extra bonus is that you can also eat at the tables within the play area – great if you have younger kids so you can see what they are up to!
At £3 for 90 minutes play in the play area, it is good value and enough time to enjoy a meal in relative peace.
There is also a self-contained outdoor play area which is well equipped too. If the elusive sun appears, a great place to enjoy a wee refreshment while the kids play.
The staff were all so pleasant, very attentive and obviously liked children.
The kids menu ‘menacing meals’ is full of plenty of choices such as popin’ chicken, spaghetti beano-ese and the menace burger which come with a wide selection of sides. The desert menu has lots of favourite… sundaes, doughnuts and jelly and ice cream to name a few.
I love the free refills tea and coffee (and draft fizzy juice), a great idea when for many parents a hot cuppa is a luxury.
It is an ideal place to meet friends as kids can play in a safe and contained environment allowing the grown-ups to chat in peace. My kids had a ball in the play area and enjoyed their lunch… we will certainly visit again.
