Breakout Manchester is a brand new team building activity place located on Brazennose Street in Manchester City Centre and is easy to spot with the Breakout Manchester logo clearly printed on the windows.

The website was extremely helpful in giving me an idea of what the various games were about and the booking process was easy!

It is about a 15 minute walk from the £3 a day car park opposite the Phones 4u Arena and with the help on my iPhone map app it was quite easy to find.

I chose 4 close friends to take on the Virus Room all from very different walks of life and with different personalities which I thought would work well. My team consisted of myself, Emma, Keri, Aimee and Vicky, all ladies I have known for several years and I thought this would be a great opportunity to put our various degrees of knowledge to the test.

Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly member of the Breakout team named Ed who went through the various health and safety policies and pointed us in the right direction to use the loo before the game began.

The reception area was warm and welcoming and extremely modern! I liked the fact that nothing in reception gave anything away about what lay ahead.

We were all a little nervous as we didn’t know what to expect on the other side of the door which I feel added to the atmosphere of the game itself.

The games concept is relatively straight forward to follow, you are locked in a room for 60 minutes and as a team have to use the various items and clues to escape but there are a few red herrings thrown in to slow you down along the way.

We chose the more advanced Virus Room and found it challenging, energetic and more importantly FUN!

The Virus Room story is fun and exciting, we were the last hope humanity had as a deadly virus was spreading along the country so as a team we had to find the antidote  using number skills, props and many more mysteries.

The Breakout team watch the activity via CCTV and use a screen in the room to give the players hints and tips.

We completed the first few tasks very quickly and found the staff’s comments on the screen really amusing especially when we were told to slow down!

As the game went on the tasks became more challenging and really did get you using your brain.

I am not going to tell you how but WE ESCAPED with 15 seconds to spare and all shrieked with joy when the door clicked open!

After the game we had a chat with the Breakout staff and asked a few questions about the venue and about the soon to open new room Madchester which really does sound brilliant!

We also had to opportunity to pose in front of the Breakout wall with cards saying we had escaped.

We thanked the staff for a fantastic time and made our way home feeling pretty triumphant!

If you are looking for something new, exciting and challenging then I cannot recommend Breakout Manchester enough!

I am definitely going to return to Breakout Manchester when their new room opens as it really is a fabulous way to spend time with friends.

A huge thumbs up from all of us!
