Bottomless Brunch at Midtown Bar and Dining at NYX Hotel Holborn Review

The Midtown dining is on the ground floor of the hotel and serves the bottomless brunch from 12 – 4 daily and you are allocated a 90-minute slot, although they were very happy for us to stay longer had we wanted to. It is situated within the NYX hotel that has a roof top dining area bar and music that opens at 6pm. There is also a fabulous looking spa too. Had we known this before we arrived, I may have considered booking in after our meal.

The entire place is fabulously decorated with a high-class funky wine bar feel throughout with beautiful brightly adorned pictures and furnishings coupled with huge ornamental Panthers scattered around. The DJ was great too and the music he played would have accommodated any musical tastes. It wasn’t too loud but was enough to give a lovely ambience to the place. The only odd thing I found was there was a massive TV screen with the news on but no sound throughout. Not sure if it was there for the football but in my opinion was a bit of an eye sore, and who wants to see Donald Trump giving a speech whilst you are eating?

Unlike a standard bottomless brunch that you generally pay one price then upgrade for certain cocktails etc., here you choose a savoury dish and/or and sweet dish each charged at between £12.95 and £15.95. You can then upgrade to prosecco or Mimosa for an additional £20 per person. There are no other drink options available for the bottomless brunch but for us that was fine. Also, if you prefer, you could order just a brunch then choose an alternative alcoholic, soft drink, or coffee, great if you have non-drinkers amongst your party.

The menu only has six savoury options and two sweets, but they all looked delicious. We went for two courses which were amazing. We chose the pulled beef tacos with chipotle sauce and the chicken tenders on waffles with maple syrup which were both fabulous. For the sweet dishes we choose the golden syrup pancakes with banana fritter, berries and a butterscotch sauce and the French brioche toast with cream, pecan nut brittle. The sweet portions were huge as you will see from the pictures so you probably wouldn’t need two courses. The food was fresh, beautifully presented and had nice little unusual touches.

The service was second to none although all the staff were both professional but ultra friendly without being intrusive. They were attentive, kept a watch when our drinks were getting low and even advised when there were only ten minutes left in case, we wanted a drink refill.

I would definitely recommend this place and will definitely be going back and I’d suggest you do too! – Maybe with just one course next time though.
