As a member of ‘What’s Good To Do’ I am so excited to get the opportunity to review a pair of Blade and Rose’s Christmas season leggings; mainly from a selfish point of view as the make my baby’s bum look cuuuuuuuttttteee!!!
Blade and Rose children’s clothing have such distinctive and bright designs that they are easily recognisable out in the real world and on social media. Mainly for their cute animal and floral designs covering baby bums across the world! And the Christmas clothing is no different with characters including Father Christmas, Rudolf, robins and snowmen on their leggings, tights, tops and socks. They even have an adorable polar bear design in collaboration with WWF with 10% of the sales being donated to the charity WWF.
The Christmas leggings arrived with a cute personalised note from Amanda and the Blade and Rose team. As a fellow northerner I was so pleased to read that the company is based in Kendal, just outside of the Lake District and the tag on the leggings say that they are made in the UK. This means a lot to me, as I like to shop local at small businesses. With a quick search on their website and I also found out that all the fabrics used on the products are safe for babies and children and do not contain any harmful chemicals. Their factories and suppliers treat their workers ethically and legally and the WWF collections are made from 100% organic cotton.
The Christmas leggings we received are so lovely with grey and red striped legs, soft mini snowmen on the shins and a fleecy Rudolf on the bum. I cannot explain how soft the fleece is on the designs, I cannot stop touching it and can imagine that once my toddler finds them, he won’t touch them too! He will also be able to wear them several times across the festive period as they look robust for busy, Christmas adventures and toasty warm for the colder weather. The website has two complimenting tops to suit the leggings, a sweater with the same Rudolf design on the front at £20 and a red long sleeved top with ‘I Believe’ design for £14. It would create the perfect Christmas Day outfit and be comfortable for a day of opening presents around the Christmas tree.
The leggings are a sized 1-2 years so I am hopeful that they will fit this year and potentially next. If not, they will definitely be kept for a sibling or passed on to friends’ children. These leggings, along with all the other Blade and Rose designs are gender neutral and will be able to be worn as trousers or as a tights under dresses and skirts.
Rating: I would give these leggings a sparkly five Christmas stars *****
