BISSELL Stainpro 6 20096 Carpet Cleaner Review

Reviewed by Debbie Talbot

I moved into a new property in mid-November and have been busy kitting it out. I have carpet in my hallway and in both bedrooms and all got quite dirty while moving. Cleaning them has been high on my list of priorities so I was therefore delighted to be offered a BISSELL Stainpro 6 Carpet Cleaner (model number: 20096) to review.

It arrived in good time, well packaged. Upon opening the box, I found the following items:

BISSELL Stainpro 6 Carpet Cleaner
Sample size bottle of BISSELL Oxy Cleaning Solution
Upholstery Hose Attachment
User Guide

The instructions were clearly laid out and the carpet cleaner was put together in no time. It looks stylish but is also great functionality wise. The 2-in-1 tank is really easy to remove and slot back into place. I filled the tank with hand warm water, then added one capful of the BISSELL Oxy Cleaning Solution. The tank was slotted back into place in no time. What I also noticed was the generous length of the power cable (8 metres) so I didn’t have to keep unplugging it.

I decided to start off with the smallest of the two bedrooms. I plugged in the carpet cleaner, tapped the right-hand side lever with my foot to pull the cleaner down to a comfortable angle. I then tapped the left-hand side lever which turned on the power. In particularly marked areas of the carpet I pressed the grey squirter lever. In no time at all, I had finished the bedroom. I then moved onto the hallway and larger bedroom. I had spilt curry on the rug in the larger bedroom, staining it. The carpet cleaner made easy work of the stain. It disappeared before my eyes.

I struggle with the weight of some appliances, but I could handle the Bissell Stainpro 6 perfectly (weighs approx. 9kg) as it has an integrated carry handle.

My last task was using the tool part of the carpet cleaner to give my pre-loved sofa bed a good clean, which was extremely easy use the upholstery hose attachment, which has a very generous hose length of 2.1 metres.

After finishing the carpets and sofa bed the water in the tank looked so dirty, which I think is a sign of a great cleaner. When I tipped it out into my bath, there were bits and pieces picked up off of the carpets in the bottom of my bath which I had to wash away (I would recommend emptying it outside).

Overall, I found the BISSELL Stainpro 6 20096 to be an excellent carpet cleaner as it cleaned the carpets perfectly and removed unsightly stains (uses HEATWAVE technology which keeps the water a constant temperature to deliver consistent cleaning results). It also has 6 Cleaning Rows of Rotating PowerBrushes to loosen any stubborn dirt deep in the carpet, SURROUND SUCTION which helps the carpets dry faster and EDGESWEEP Brushes to get right up against skirting/baseboards and furniture.

I would recommend this carpet cleaner to people I know. It has made my life so much easier and in my opinion, gives professional results, it even comes with a 5 year limited warranty.

I would have to rate it 5/5 for price, functionality and ease of use.
