Belledorm Cocoonzz Silk Hair Accessories Review

Belledorm “The Home of Exceptional Linens” Is a fabulous place to shop if you are looking for beautiful and stylish home linens such as bedding, but did you know that they also had a hair accessory range?

Made out of Grade A silk, their Cocoonzz range, which includes turban’s, headbands, scrunchies and eye masks, is a must for a gorgeous gift or sumptuous treat. Simple, yet elegant and sophisticated, the products are suitable for any age and made using 100% Mulberry silk 16 momme, with grade A being the highest quality available. Silk is a 100% natural material, so its hypo-allergenic therefore safe for your skin and it’s also great for your hair creating less frizz than standard synthetic materials.

Having very long hair myself I was extremely happy to try out both the hair bands and headband, as with previously coloured hair, my hair can break quite easily, and I thought that silk would be a lovely soft material to use in my hair. I certainly wasn’t wrong, when the items arrived, they felt as soft as butter, and I couldn’t wait to try them.

Both coming in simple, clear plastic boxes, correctly sized so no unnecessary waste, and subtly branded in dusky pink, the packaging showcased the items beautifully. The hair bands come in two options, a mixed pack of traditional fairly wide scrunchies & thinner skinnies, which come in a five pack of assorted colours, 2 Scrunchies (Black + Marble) & 3 Skinnies (Black, Pink & Dash Print) or a six pack of skinnies. The skinnies are perfect for tying your hair back unobtrusively without the extra weight of the scrunchie, so I was very happy with my choice when they arrived. Super soft, the pack of skinnies comes in 3 assorted colours, 2 x black, 2 x pale pink & 2 x platinum (a silvery grey). The skinnies have a really strong elastic but as its encased with silk its kind to your hair, unlike traditional elastic hair bands. They also have a discreet same colour Cocoonzzz branded tag which makes them look like the premium product that they are.

The Cocoonzzz silk headband is not a day to day wearing band, but predominantly for use whilst sleeping and applying makeup. Super soft yet again, and available in black or marble grey it has discreet same colour branding, but this time stitched directly on the silk. Its lightly padded with 8g silk padding, and a secure Velcro fastening. I have a very small head and generally find these types of headbands are way too long for me, but the Cocoonzzz band has a long strip of Velcro making it very adjustable. It feels excellent quality and comfortable to wear, keeping your hair out of the way whilst not flattening or pulling it, and just slides off when you have finished with it.

The scrunchies, skinnies and headband are recommended to be handwashed only, in lukewarm water, using a little of your everyday shampoo, but the headband can be washed at 40 degrees with a standard non bio detergent so are both are easy to look after and even after washing perform beautifully.

The Cocoonzzz silk range from Belledorm would make a wonderful gift whether it be for Mothers Day, or a birthday, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.
