As a house of coffee lovers, it was great to be offered the chance to review the Beanies Advent calendar. Beanies specialises in flavoured instant coffee. All their products are sugar free and low in calories. Beanies state that their instant coffee range provides for guilt-free indulgence. Beanies prides itself as having instant coffee flavours for every occasion and mood to fit into your daily routine. The products can be enjoyed with milk or just as it is. Beanies say that their products are packed full of deliciousness.

Beanies was founded in 2013 in to offer coffee lovers a choice of easy-to-make flavoured coffees. They have over 50 flavours and the products are produced in their factory based in the North East. Beanies also sells flavoured coffee pods which are Nespresso®️ Compatible Coffee Pods. One of the selling points of the coffee pods is that they disintegrate within 26 weeks at ambient temperature in a home compost heap. Great flavour pods and environmentally friendly. In conjunction with Coffeeway, Beanies also offer a range of flavoured filter coffees.

The advent calendar forms part of a larger Christmas range for Beanies. This Christmas range includes a selection of 50g jars which are priced at £3. The Christmas flavours include mince pie, yule log, Christmas pudding, orange and cranberry, gingerbread and peppermint to name a few. The range also include sets which include either a variety of the Christmas flavours in sachet form or sets which include 4 or 6 jars. All of the Christmas selection boxes are less than £20 so a great gift idea for the coffee lover in your life.

The advent calendar itself is aesthetically pleasing. It has a coffee/Christmas theme picture and is a good size. The calendar includes two 50g jars which will vary per calendar. The flavours we received were Merry Marzipan and Irish Coffee. The calendar also includes 44 x stick sachets. Each day you receive 2 different flavours to enjoy. Each sachet makes one cup of coffee. My favourite flavour was the hazelnut but I am a bit of a traditionalist. I found some of the flavours a little unusual such as the orange and cranberry, but my son enjoyed some of the more unique flavours such as the yule log and the Christmas pudding. Beanies have all bases covered with the advent calendar, the traditionalist and those who want to try something a little different. Not all the flavours will be everyone’s taste but there is such a variety there will definitely be a flavour everyone will enjoy. The coffee doesn’t have the depth of flavour you get from filter coffee but for an instant it is pretty good and smells great.

The advent calendar is currently on sale for £20. This is a great price for an advent calendar. I would definitely recommend this advent calendar for a coffee lover: it makes a change from a standard chocolate advent calendar.
