base2stay Liverpool is a 106 room, affordable luxury, boutique hotel – located in the heart of Liverpool.
Before our journey we contacted the hotel to find out what time check in was, the staff were helpful and friendly and were able to answer all questions. The 12 o’clock check in and out times were very generous. After looking at the user friendly and informative website we were set to go with our directions.
As we frequent Liverpool often, my husband and I were excited to see what base2stay had to offer. Although base2stay does not have its own private parking there are plenty of reasonably priced car parks nearby. We paid £7.50 at the car park facing the hotel for our complete stay.
base2stay is located within the heart of a very stylish renovated part of the city, with excellent access to all amenities literally on your doorstep. The city has something for everyone – shops, museums, bars and restaurants a plenty, and not to mention the impressive docks.
On arrival from the outside the hotel stood grand in a vibrant area of the city. The reception, lounge and lift area featured abstract art work which complimented the original character of the building. Reception staff were excellent, quick to respond to our needs ad check us in, friendly and very informative regarding the local area. Although the hotel did not facilitate breakfast on site, helpful information was given on where a discounted breakfast could be purchased nearby.
Security was of the highest standard, the key fobs issued at check-in point had to be used to access the entrance, again to access the stair well or lift and then again to access your room. This added security made you feel at ease, safe and able to relax and enjoy your stay without worry.
On entering the room we were both delighted. The room was spacious and very clean. The skyline was a beautiful touch, which boasted key buildings of the city. The original beams were the pinnacle feature of the room, which instantly impressed and gave a real unique feel to the room. Although the hotel was located in such a bustling busy part of the city, the triple glazing allowed for a peaceful sleep. The mini kitchen in the room had all accessories and utensils needed, however as this was neatly built into one of the wardrobes, it was difficult to open the cupboards with no handles. The digital facilities available were of an excellent standard and very easy to use. The room was decorated in neutral colours which allowed for a super relaxing stay, along with the large comfortable bed.
Although the hotel lacked in car parking and breakfast facilities, it more than made up for it in everything else mentioned above. I would definitely recommend this to others and stay again myself.
