Giving socks to a friend or family member is an essential part of Christmas and I must admit I always tend to do this, so I was delighted to receive a pack containing four pairs of men’s James socks from Bamigo to review. I am of the opinion that we can never have enough pairs of socks and both myself and my family especially like the feel of new cosy natural fibres on our skin. When I was younger, I really didn’t understand that giving and receiving socks could be so exciting, but now I can truly appreciate the joy of receiving a beautiful pair of handmade socks, especially ones with the luxurious feel of the Bamigo James Socks.
The James Socks which I received are made from a wonderfully soft mix of 78% viscose bamboo. 20% polyamide and 2% elastane and are much more breathable than your average pair of cotton socks. Bamboo is one of the most sustainable products available so we can feel secure in the knowledge that we are doing our bit to help with the environment, without compromising on comfort. The Bamigo James Socks came in a fully recyclable cardboard box, with no nasty plastic in sight, which is another added bonus as I am always aware of my carbon footprint and try to do everything possible to reduce any waste.
The men’s James socks which I received are stylish black with the ‘Bamigo’ logo on either side. One pair has tiny grey spots, one has thin vertical stripes, one has thin horizontal stripes and the fourth pair are plain black. All four pairs look very chic, which I feel is very important as I can think of nothing worse than being smartly dressed and then let down by a pair of gaudy socks. The socks are a tiny bit longer than other socks which my husband wears, and cling well the lower calf, ensuring that they do not slip down.
My husband is diabetic and is aware of how important it is to take extra care of his feet to avoid nerve damage, which can be common for people with his condition. The Bamigo Socks are comfortable and breathable, as well as super absorbent, so that his feet stay fresh all day long thus making them the perfect choice for him.
The socks can be machine washed with similar colours at 30/40 degrees so are very easy to care for. They are available in two sizes 6 – 8.5 and 9 – 11.5 and are super soft with a ribbed cuff which ensures a perfect fit. The socks have reinforced heel and toe and flat seams, which is so important when you need comfort. They are a much thinner, silkier quality than any other socks I have tried so are really good for sensitive skin. Being manufactured predominantly from bamboo means that they have a natural odour free deodorising quality which ensures freshness at all times.
If you are looking for a luxurious yet practical Christmas present for that special man in your life, the pack of Bamigo James Socks would be the ideal choice. Your man will appreciate your thoughtfulness.
