I recently received through the post, a brown envelope containing this lovely Hard Working Hands Set from Balmonds Skincare. It consists of two products an Intensive Hand Cream and Skin Salvation. The products were well wrapped in a padded envelope given them sufficient protection.
The Intensive Hand Cream comes in a thin 50ml/100ml (£10.99/£18.99) plastic pump which can be recycled. It is advertised as being “A natural emollient cream with organic hemp seed oil, shea butter, and biodynamic herbal tinctures, for daily moisturising, maintenance and nourishment. For use at home, after gardening or in the workplace”.
It also claims to be 99% natural containing no perfumes, parabens, SLS, phthalates, silicones, phenoxyethanol, PEG’s, mineral oil or lies. So, far so good. The product is good for the environment, and very natural. Let’s find out what its’ like.
The Intensive Hand Cream took a few pumps for the cream to come through, which I think is very similar for most new products. The label says, apply liberally… In the first instance I applied one full pump before adding a further half. The cream itself comes out in a 1mm silky ribbon about 5cm long. It’s a nice creamy yoghurt colour and very rich in texture. Initially it smells pleasant with a faint smell. However, as you rub the cream in, the smell intensifies (not my favourite fragrance as it reminds me of propolis) but it does fade again. Overall, it left my hands feeling lovely and soft.
The Skin Salvation comes in a 30ml/60ml/120ml glass jar inside a lovely green box (RRP from £7.99). This one is an intensive ointment to nourish, protect and moisturise dry skin. Also suitable for people who may be prone to eczema. The jar and box are recyclable and again this one is 100% natural.
It claims to have no perfumes, no parabens, no palm oil, no phthalates, no silicones, no PEGs, no phenoxyethanol, no mineral oil, no synthetics, no SLC and no lies. So, generally it’s a good company to buy gifts from as their products are kind to the environment and natural.
This ointment is suitable for babies 6 weeks plus which is great, people with a range of skin issues such as psoriasis, bed sores and even tattoo aftercare. It appears to have a creamy yellow texture similar to play dough at first yet resembles slightly melted butter once you touch it. As the label says its relatively odour free and nice to touch. I’ve been using this on dry, cracked skin and I must say I am impressed with the results so far! A week later and I can certainly feel the difference, my hands feel really nice!
To conclude I would recommend this for a number of people for Christmas presents, it’s a great gift idea!
