The packaging is colourful, secure and the pictures on the box show clearly how the mobile works and its features.

The mobile is fairly straight forward to put together (even without the instructions), but the instructions are generally clear and easy to follow. One issue with the box is that the note of the batteries that are required is very small, but at least it is on the outside of the box, so it can be bought as part of a gift without the need to open the packaging.

The B Kids Merry Go Round Mobile has some great features:  the light (which gradually changes colour) and the remote control particularly make this mobile stand out from others on the market. We use our light as a night light when night feeding and the remote control is really useful to teach baby to settle on their own – the adult can control the mobile almost out of sight of the baby.

The cuddly toys that spin around are bright and colourful and the mobile seems safe and well put together (although there are, of course, the usual warning to ensure it is assembled correctly and removed when children can stand up in the cot).

The mobile is bright and colourful and has lots to keep baby’s eyes focussed and entertained.

There are 3 settings: classical music, lullabies and nature sounds. The nature sounds are by far the most relaxing setting and work best to calm our baby. One issue we had with the music choices on the mobile was that it was all a bit too fast (even some of the lullabies), so much so that our little one always “dances” when it comes on. We have therefore just used the nature sounds at bedtime and the “waves” works best to calm and soothe our little one.

Another good feature of this mobile is that there are 3 volume settings, so you can press the button 3 times to make the sounds quieter and you can actually stop the music or sounds and just have the light and motion settings.

The use of a remote control was the best feature for us. Instead of a timer, you can control the mobile from the other side of the nursery, out of baby’s sight, so it can help in sleep training techniques. It also means you can turn off the light, sounds and motion as soon as baby is settled without having to go back into the room.

The Merry Go Round Mobile is a colourful bright addition to any nursery – I would recommend it.  The soothing noise of waves crashing works to calm our little one and the remote control is a fabulous feature.

I would have to rate it as 4/5 – a point lost simply because of the choice of music, but other settings can be used to avoid this.
