The arrogant, grumpy, surly, tactless doctor is back for series 6 of the hugely popular ITV drama, Doc Martin starring Martin Clunes and Caroline Catz.

Doctor Martin Ellingham (Martin Clunes) is the local GP in the small Cornish town of Portwenn. Series 6 sees Doc Martin marrying the local head teacher, Louisa Glasson (Caroline Catz) and even through the rushed wedding ceremony cannot raise a smile and stays as rigid as ever. Their friends have arranged a honeymoon cottage from them and this goes disastrously wrong. After returning to Portwenn Martin and Louisa have to learn to live together while raising their son.

This series sees the introduction of a new character in the guise of the new “manny” (male nanny) caring for the Ellingham’s son who suffers from a chronic case of OCD. Throw in the other oddball characters, old and new, like Joe the incompetent, accident prone police, a hoarder, the hypochondriac and the return of baby-stealing Mrs Tishell, the Doc is to become more ill-tempered than ever before.

Overall Doc Martin is a funny and witty comedy drama about a grumpy, ill-tempered, rude and arrogant local doctor that has the best interests of his patients at heart. Martin Clunes is superb as the grumpy Doc and plays the role perfectly. PC Joe Penhale (John Marquez) provides a lot of the comic humour and is outstanding as this clumsy, bored policeman.

Doc Martin is one of the wittiest comedies on TV and now you can own the latest series on DVD. This is one not to be missed.
