Adventivity Review

Reviewed by Linda Curtain

I have had the chance to start feeling a bit Christmassy this week with the lovely Adventivity book to review. This is an advent calendar and activity book in one with twenty five fun Christmas activities to create in the run up to Christmas.

The front cover of the book is very colourful and Christmassy and doubles up as an advent calendar where each door opens to reveal a surprise mini-project to create each day. All the projects have clear, easy to follow instructions and there is a comprehensive list of all the additional items that may be required to complete them. Although there are quite a lot of extra materials needed, many of these would be found around the house but you would need to check they were available beforehand to avoid disappointment at not being able to complete an activity.

Supplied within the book is a good variety of coloured card with press-out components to help create the many fun Christmas items. The whole book is well illustrated and of extremely good quality and durability. There is an excellent range of activities from paper crafts to edible treats, from decorated cards to a nodding Santa! A range of projects suitable for various age groups-although adult help will be needed for the younger ones.

The candy cane mice were a definite favourite in our house and the light catchers look lovely and Christmassy in the window – even if a bit early!! I’m sure many more items will adorn the house before the big day!

An interesting, well-priced book at £9.99.
