A beautiful treasure to touch her heart! Abbott Lyon have scored a winner with this 18ct gold plated necklace incorporating a little heart filled with rose quartz. It arrives in an exciting looking pale salmon pink cardboard envelope with the wording ‘it’s time to sparkle’ on it. This gets the anticipation starting…!
Inside the envelope is a lovely gift box – embossed cream with gold lettering and a slide out gold draw which reveals the necklace inside. Underneath the necklace are the words ‘we hope you love it’ – sweet! The box is high quality and beautiful in itself. No need for further gift wrapping from the giver (always a bonus!) It is such a delightful thing to open!
The packaging is appropriately sturdy and protective but minimal and it fits easily through the letterbox – so no worries about parcels being left with next door or having to go to the post office et cetera and all the packaging is recyclable and plastic free. I would say that the necklace is timeless in design – that it will probably last a lifetime and be a ‘go to’ item of jewellery for all sorts of occasions. The chain is very fine and delicate but strong enough for its purpose.
I wondered what length it would be and whether it would have enough adjustment to be appropriate with different outfits but I need not have worried. The minimum chain length is approx 40 cm and the maximum is approx 46 cm (16” – 18”)- more than enough adjustment.
I find it perfect for almost every outfit and it hangs well around the neck. This is a necklace that can be worn with ‘going out’ clothes or as every day wear. It is gold plated stainless steel and has an anti-tarnish protective coating which is nickel free. It is water, sweat and heat resistant and the manufacturers give a two year plating and quality guarantee which makes you feel reassured.

There is a chain extender priced at £15 should you feel the need for one and there is a matching ‘sphere’ bracelet available for £29 which I fancy to dress up the look even more – this will really compliment the necklace.
I like the fact that the word is “Mama“ and not “Mummy “ or “Mum“ – it seems to cross language barriers and gives it wider appeal.
This necklace is a sweet expression of love and appreciation for the motherhood of the recipient
As such it can be appropriately given on all sorts of different occasions:
For Valentine’s Day it would be perfect given to a partner who is pregnant, or a new mum, or maybe just a fantastic mother all round
For Mother’s Day it is an incredibly personal beautiful and heartfelt symbol
Of course it would also make a lovely Christmas present, birthday present or even an Anniversary gift
If my son had given me this gift it would have instantly melted my heart! A really beautiful and touching piece of jewellery, charmingly presented. I can’t recommend this highly enough.
