With the warmer and longer days approach now is the time to be investing in games and toys for the outdoors. With two very active children that actually want to be outside in all weathers, we are always looking for new games and toys to play as a family. A boomerang has always been on our list of toys we’d like to play with as a family. We were gifted a Wicked Sonic Booma by Wicked Vision.
My children aged 4 and 6 years were very excited to receive the Sonic Booma and put it to the test. Would it return when thrown? was the question of the moment.
The Booma does not look like a traditional Boomerang as it has tri- blades instead of two. The Sonic Booma was surprisingly very light weight due to it been made from Memorang polymer. We loved the vibrant red colour. There are three different colours available.
You throw the Sonic Booma in the same way as a traditional boomerang. There are clear instructions on the packaging on how to throw it properly. We also watched the Sonic Booma videos on YouTube to make sure we knew exactly how to throw it correctly.
Once the Sonic Booma was thrown in the direction of the wind, it traveled far and at speed. Whilst it was whizzing through the air, it makes a loud whistling sound, which added to the excitement. Due to the distance it travelled, it was definitely keeping us fit as a family going to retrieve it.
I’m a lefty and did struggle to successfully through it, even though I had studied the instructions. My children found it funny that they could throw it much further than I could. They are right handed. I don’t know if I was overthinking the technique or because I am left handed.
The Sonic Booma can be fine tuned to aide in it’s return. This is something we are still working on. Even though we haven’t successfully thrown the Sonic Booma so that it returns to us when thrown. We are having great fun playing with it as a family, keeping us fit and away from the devices
I love that the Sonic Booma is manufactured in the UK.

We were also lucky to be gifted a seconded item. The Wicked Micro Jet.
The Micro Jet is a soft foam aeroplane that comes pre assembled in the box.
The box includes, the aeroplane, a landing strip and stickers to decorate your plane. Plus, some patches in case your aeroplane gets any damage.
Once taken out of the box you need to bend down the wings and tail flaps in order to set it ready for the flight. The wings and tails can be adjusted for your chosen flight stunt.
The plane was very easy to throw and smoothly glades through the air like a bird.
We tried to tune the wings and tail in order to complete the stunts but were unsuccessful. However, this didn’t deter from the enjoyment of whom could throw it the furthest or land it on the landing strip.
Overall, we gave the Micro Jet 3/5. We had great fun playing with it but I didn’t feel it was the best value for money. The plane feels delicate and I’m not sure how long it would last without it becoming damaged.
Personally, I would rather spend more and get something that would last longer like a Booma or Sky Spinner.
